Beret Flash Description: A shield-shaped device with arced base, 1 7/8 inches (4.76cm) in width and 2 1/4 inches (5.72cm) in height overall, divided diagonally from upper right to lower left, the upper part red (scarlet) and the lower part black, the diagonal division line surmounted by a diagonal white bar 5/16 inch (.79cm) in width, all within a 1/8 inch (.32cm) white border. The beret flash was approved on 21 Aug 1969. 6th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Activated 1 May 1963 Fort Bragg, North Carolina De-Activated 1971
